Origins and History

The pineberry’s origins can be traced back to South America, where it was first discovered in the mountainous regions of Chile and Argentina. The pineberry is the result of cross-breeding, not genetic engineering. Peek-A-Boo pineberries were developed through natural breeding techniques at the University of Florida, crossing a Japanese white strawberry and a Florida red strawberry.
