Total Body Tune Up

An injury prevention program for UF and UF Health team members in the Gainesville area.

Total Body Tune Up

Injury Prevention Program

First move well, then move often. Our injury prevention program, Total Body Tune Up, helps you move with greater confidence by identifying movement patterns that may increase your risk of injury. Start with a Functional Movement Screening (FMS), a seven-movement assessment designed for any UF or UF Health employee looking to improve the way they move every day. This program is ongoing, so you may register at any time!

There are in-person components to this program so you must be able to participate in Gainesville.

What Should I Expect When Registering for Total Body Tune Up?

Total Body Tune Up is an injury prevention program that begins with a Functional Movement Screening (FMS) and continues to support healthy physical wellness behaviors through a month-long email campaign. This program will consist of three parts:

  1. Functional Movement Screening (FMS) – After registering for the program, you will receive an email from the GatorCare Wellness team to schedule your 45-minute Functional Movement Screening. This assessment evaluates your body’s movement patterns to identify any asymmetries or dysfunctions that may increase your risk of injury. Your results will be used to develop a personalized corrective exercise plan to help you build a strong movement foundation before increasing physical activity.
  2. Personalized Exercise Plan & Educational Support – Following your screening, you will automatically receive your individualized corrective exercise plan along with weekly educational emails for one month. These resources are designed to help you improve movement quality, support your fitness goals, and maintain healthy physical wellness habits.
  3. One-Month Follow-Up Screening – Approximately one month after your initial screening, you will complete a follow-up Functional Movement Screening to evaluate your progress and identify any improvements in your movement patterns.

What is a Functional Movement Screening (FMS)?

The FMS is comprised of seven movement tests that require a balance of mobility and stability. The patterns used provided observable performance of basic, mobility, and stability movements by placing clients in positions where weakness, imbalances, asymmetries, and limitations become noticeable by a trained health and fitness professional.
