About Your Benefit

We are sure that you have many questions about your Talkspace benefit. To get started, read this one-page summary of services covering the basics. A breakdown of the core Talkspace services—live Psychiatry sessions, live counseling sessions, and messaging when you need it—is also provided below.

Psychiatry

Your Talkspace psychiatrist can assist you with managing and prescribing your mental health medications (excluding controlled substances). Experience psychiatry from the comfort of your own home, on your schedule. Sessions are conducted via live, confidential video chat.

Counseling – Messaging

Message your Talkspace therapist whenever you have a counseling concern you would like to address. Your Talkspace therapist is available five days per week to respond to your messages via text or via video message. All communication is confidential

Counseling – Live Sessions

Receive free and unlimited online video therapy sessions with your choice of licensed Talkspace providers. Schedule your session for a time that works for you, without spending time on a commute to the office.

Note: Talkspace is not a crisis hotline. Anyone requiring immediate assistance is encouraged to call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-8255) or contact other emergency services (e.g. calling 9-1-1).

Is the GatorCare Talkspace benefit unlimited?

GatorCare members do not have session limits. However, Talkspace is only able to load 30 sessions at a time, so when your provider tells you that you are getting low on credits or have run out of credits, contact gatorcare-support@talkspace.com to have your session limit refreshed at no cost to you.

Is there any cost to use the GatorCare Talkspace benefit?

Talkspace is a separate, value added service that does not have benefit-associated cost share such as copays and coinsurance. Talkspace is no cost to eligible users through Talkspace.com/Gatorcare.

How do I sign up for my GatorCare Talkspace benefit?

Please wait 4-6 weeks after your first day of coverage under GatorCare to register for Talkspace through GatorCare. It takes a few weeks for your eligibility to be processed. If you have any questions regarding the app or registration process, check out this registration guide.

How quickly should I hear from my therapist?

Messaging between users and Talkspace therapists is asynchronous, meaning that users and therapists do not communicate in real time. You can reach out to your therapist as often as you need to (and at any time of day), and expect to hear back from your therapist within one working day, during their business hours, five days per week. If your therapist is responding less frequently than daily/five days a week, please contact the Talkspace support team at GatorCare-support@talkspace.com.
