Bring your team together, showcase your diverse cultures, and let your collective creativity shine! This September, UF and UF Health departments are invited to compete in our inaugural Cultural Art Contest. As a team, create a collaborative collage that showcases what culture and community mean to your department. Work together to combine your ideas, creativity, and unique perspectives into one meaningful piece of art!

What We’re Looking For

• Create as a team: The collage should be a collaborative effort that includes contributions from multiple members of your department. Your collage can be created digitally (using NO AI) or by hand.
• Showcase your culture: Use your collage to highlight the diverse cultures, traditions, identities, experiences, or values represented within your department.
• Tell your department’s story: Your collage should reflect what culture and community mean to your team and what makes your department unique.
• Get creative: Think beyond traditional artwork! Incorporate photos, drawings, words, symbols, patterns, textures, or other creative elements to bring your vision to life.
• Make it meaningful: We encourage you to create something that represents your team authentically and celebrates the diversity that makes your department and community stronger.
• Have fun with it: Most importantly, enjoy the opportunity to connect with your colleagues, learn from one another, and create something together!

The Prizes 🏆

Departmental prize winners will receive:

• A $100 Visa gift card to use for department celebrations and treats
• Custom t-shirts featuring the winning artwork for each department team member

Contest Guidelines & Rules

🚫 STRICT NO-AI POLICY: To celebrate the true spirit of human connection and authentic creative expression, all submissions must be entirely created by department employees. AI-generated art, prompts, or algorithmic enhancements will be immediately disqualified. We want to see your team’s personal touch and genuine artistry!

• Who can enter? Any official department, division, or unit within the University of Florida and UF Health.
• Artwork must be submitted on behalf of the entire department by one designated representative. This contest is a collaborative team-building opportunity, so individual submissions will not be eligible for prizes.
• What counts as “Cultural Art”? We are looking for one collaborative collage. The piece should express or celebrate cultural identity, unity, or heritage of your department. Think about your daily rhythms, eating lunch together, inside jokes, shared morning coffee routines, or the unique social bonds that make your department feel like a community.
• Your collage can be created digitally or by hand using a variety of materials, such as paper, markers, photographs, fabric, or 3D elements. Choose the format and materials that best bring your team’s shared story and creativity to life!
• Submission Deadline: All entries must be uploaded by September 30 at 11:59 PM.
