Enhancements to Login Security on Florida Blue Website

Dear GatorCare members,

As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the security and privacy of your information, we are pleased to announce the implementation of additional login security measures to the Florida Blue website. These updates are crafted to shield your personal data and offer you heightened peace of mind whenever you access your account. Florida Blue will be launching this enhancement with a phased rollout approach, meaning features will be continuously added to reach as seamless of a login process as possible.

Starting this week, there will be an additional step in the login process aimed at verifying your identity and preventing unauthorized access. Here’s what to expect:

1. Identity Verification: When logging in, you will encounter a new window prompting you to provide extra information to verify your identity. This includes your address, phone number, and birthdate. If additional verification is necessary, you will have the option to choose from two alternative methods:

  • Providing a picture of a driver’s license or government issued ID along with a snapshot of your face.
  • Answering a series of verifications questions, such as previous addresses you’ve lived at.

This will be a one-time process upon logging in unless you change your username or password information.

2. Two-Factor Authentication: Following the initial identity verification, you will set up a two factor authentication system with your phone number or email to securely sign in. This added layer of authentication ensures that only authorized individuals can access your account.

Additionally, you may choose to designate devices you log into as trusted. This will allow you to bypass the two-factor authentication in future logins for that specific device.

These security enhancements underscore our dedication to prioritizing the protection of your sensitive information and maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity. By implementing these measures, we aim to minimize the risk of unauthorized access and ensure a secure online experience for all our members.
